Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work on-site with our client in Stratford, CT. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • Specific for Static Testing ASTM standard tests on United Testing System, Static Test Machines.
  • Conduct Static Tests: conduct static tests on various materials to assess their properties such as strength, durability, and elasticity per approved static test request.
  • Specimen Preparation: Collect and prepare samples from engineering and fabrication sources for testing.
  • This includes fabricating or preparing specified specimens to necessary testing sizes utilizing the wet saw and precision grinding machine.
  • Operation of standard 12" shop wet saw for cutting composites.
  • Operating and using a CNC precision grinder for dressing material specimens to exact tolerances.
  • Set up and utilize data acquisition and control computers to run tests, monitor, and record the data collection for customer-requested reports.
  • Prepare and deliver data to customer required form and location.
  • Maintain and confirm calibrated testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • This includes but is limited to scheduling necessary calibrations with third-party suppliers and internal metrology departments as well as all handheld and attachable measurement tools, to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaboration of customer representatives Center Engineers, and technicians to include Quality Assurance customer support.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety regulations and procedures during the testing process.
  • This includes but is not limited to proper utilization of machine safeguarding as well as initiation and conduct of any Job Safety Analysis for never performed or one-off non-standard testing.
  • Support customers in research and process walks of testing in an effort for them to understand, investigate, and validate the impact of various conditions on different materials and test setups.
  • Setup and prepare specimens for specified time duration and conditions in environmental chambers per Condition Test request.
  • Monitor and record necessary data per the specified schedule confirmed by the customer.
  • Removal and delivery of specimen to necessary customer or testing apparatus at defined time and location per customer request.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance of all test machines, environmental chambers, adapters, and hand tools associated with the Static Test role in the EPC.

Here's what you'll get:

Starting Pay: $30.00 /hr

Hours: 40 hrs/week /1st shift

Length: Temporary (12 Months).

Job Requirements
