Job Description:

We are seeking Senior Corporate Counsel - Regulatory to support Microchip including its Business Units, Environmental, Information Network & Security, Marketing Communications, Sales and Supply Management teams on a variety of regulatory and compliance matters applicable to a global publicly-traded semiconductor company.Support will include monitoring and advising on regulatory changes and compliance standards; drafting, updating, maintaining, and advising on policies and related training materials; supporting internal investigations, government inquiries and surveys, government funded projects, and customer requests; reviewing and negotiating contracts related to various regulatory obligations.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • J.D. from ABA accredited law school and licensed to practice law in a U.S. state

  • Excellent academic credentials

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience practicing law (with strong writing and research skills)

  • Experience handling variety of regulatory and compliance matters such as internal investigations, antitrust, data privacy, ethics, environmental, government contracting and funding, and/or trade

  • Experience drafting and tracking policies and related training materials

  • Experience interfacing with government agencies, regulators, customers, and/or cross-functional teams

  • Strong legal research and ability to program manage and affect change management needed.

  • Interest in and excels at learning new areas of law

  • Prior experience representing publicly traded technology companies a plus

  • High level of integrity, initiative, and professionalism

  • High attention to detail and the ability to explain complex matters in a clear and concise manner

  • Strong business acumen, a proven team player and consensus builder, and a business approach to law and problem-solving

  • Flexible self-starter and proactive problem solver who can work independently while handling significant, direct client contact

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Strong organizational skills, follow-through, and sense of urgency

  • Computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, and internet)
