The Southwest Environmental Finance Center (Southwest EFC) within UNM's Center for Water and the Environment is searching for a creative Communications & Outreach Assistant to support our marketing and communications efforts. The Communications & Outreach Assistant will work closely with the Communication & Outreach Specialist as well as project directors to execute comprehensive marketing strategies (ranging from traditional to digital/social media) to support a variety of Southwest EFC projects. The position will also include podcast and video production, event planning and coordination, and administrative work to support the Southwest EFC. We provide solutions to environmental problems via training and technical assistance on various topics associated with drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and other environmental topics. The Southwest EFC was created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) in 1992 to serve the states within EPA Region 6 (including NM, TX, AR, OK and LA). Since then, the Southwest EFC has greatly expanded its work to serve the entire country, including the five U.S. territories. Position Duties
Minimum Qualifications Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress. Preferred Qualifications
