Job Summary

This position is responsible for the coordination of the physical and electronic delivery services of materials stored in the Library Service Center (LSC) to members of the Georgia Tech (GT) and Emory Library communities; libraries in the University System of Georgia (GIL Express); and libraries worldwide (Interlibrary Loan/ILL). The person in this role will
facilitate ingest and retrieval operations for the LSC located on Emory University Briarcliff property.

This position will interact on a regular basis with: LSC Director, GT and Emory faculty, staff, students and librarians.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Supervise the monitoring of multiple request queues; validate citations; locate items; retrieve and prepare items for delivery to Emory and GT campus libraries and other libraries via courier.
Job Duty 2 - Coordinate physical delivery of items to and from the Emory University and GT campus libraries and to other libraries; work closely with the ILL and access service librarians at Emory and GT campus libraries to process requests.
Job Duty 3 - Provide electronic delivery of items requested via document delivery and interlibrary loan; work closely with the ILL librarians at Emory and GT campus libraries to process requests.
Job Duty 4 - Prepare, receive, and process new and returning material into the LSC; ingesting new material includes tray assembly, sizing, labeling, accessioning, verifying and shelving of materials.
Job Duty 5 - Operate the LSCs shuttle to deliver and pick up items to and from the Emory University and GT campus libraries.
Job Duty 6 - Assist and monitor patrons with on-site use of and remote access to collections within the LSC.
Job Duty 7 - Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Driver's License

Required Experience
Two to three years of job related experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Safety certifications on order pickers and maintenance lifts or other warehouse equipment Skills preferred for this job include demonstrated ability to train co-workers on computer systems and/or facilities operational equipment; previous experience with high density storage software; ILLiad or other interlibrary loan software; inventory control systems; experience working in a team environment

Salary Range $45,000 - $50,000 annually

ABILITIES
This job requires the ability to learn and become certified on the various lifts and machinery in order to perform job duties.

This job requires a working knowledge of Microsoft office related computer applications, e-mail, and internet; ability to read and communicate in English in written and verbal form; excellent customer service skills; ability to analyze job duties and select best way of accomplishing tasks; ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative; ability to check own work for accuracy; demonstrated capacity for carrying out tasks in a timely manner; able to perform multiple tasks with frequent interruptions; attention to detail and the ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet service metrics due to the necessity for both high quality and high quantity output; knowledge of warehouse and inventory systems, processes, and procedures; safe and courteous driving skills.
