Your Role With Us:

  • Leads initiatives with Director, Managers, Physician and clinical departments, to identify and analyze cost management opportunities using the Value Analysis process; Attends and presents opportunities at physician section and sub-committee meetings.
  • Manages and develops pursuit strategies for cost reduction consideration, prioritization and implementation in major PPI categories by modeling physician utilization patterns and practice standards.
  • Performs vendor business reviews, market research and surveys to assess opportunity scope, value and leverage points to be used for future pursuit efforts in complex and large spend Physician Preference Item (PPI) categories.
  • Manages key supplier relationships; Develops negotiating strategies and negotiates with suppliers by identifying the appropriate participants, collecting data and defining internal roles to ensure optimal results.
  • Implements pursuit strategies in collaboration with initiative Champions and Stakeholders to support Salem Health strategy and Department goals; Develops and issues Bids/Requests for Proposals (RFPs); Once responses are received, performs comparative response analysis and supports the department management teams in making informed value decisions.
  • Chairs and manages the Salem Health Products Standardization and Evaluation Committee; Develops and prepares presentations and communications to the ELC and stakeholders utilizing regular reporting protocols and standards to ensure presentations are standardized, professional, and comprehensive.
  • Manages savings initiatives implementation to ensure proper value decisions are made, implemented, and monitored.

    Background/Expertise:

    • Bachelor's Degree required; OR eight (8) years related work experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience where each year of education equates to two years of experience (four years of experience will be substituted for an associate's degree and eight years of experience will be substituted for a bachelor's degree).
    • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a clinical or healthcare role preferred.
    • Minimum of two (2) years experience in contracting, purchasing, data management, analytics, or related field required.
    • Experience in data validation and auditing to insure data integrity required; Experience working with physicians and clinical systems required; Prior supply chain experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) analytical tools and contracts preferred.
    • Knowledge of clinical and non-clinical supplies and purchased services required; Skilled in collecting, interpreting, communicating, and presenting information in a clear, concise manner required.
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, required; Able to read, write, and comprehend various written reports and documents required.
    • Strong verbal communication skills for positive interaction with staff and customers required; Ability to perform statistical and financial analysis required.
