Job Description

The Manager, Accounting will assist with the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. The duties of this position will require the ability to handle heavy volume of transactions and activity of 38,000+ single family rental homes.
  • Support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close, including management of the monthly close calendar
  • Assist with the annual audit process, including responding to audit inquiries, preparation or review of requested schedules, testing of internal controls, and preparation of financial statements
  • Direct and review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
  • Develop or assist with process improvements
  • Development and maintenance of proper internal controls
  • Prepare analytical financial reports to assist with month-end budget and variance analysis
  • Lead and develop a team of staff accountants
  • Ensure appropriate accruals are recorded monthly
  • Assist in reviewing/approving/posting journal entries
  • Overseeing general ledger analysis
  • Reconciliation of intercompany transactions
  • Activate/Deactivate sold properties for AP and journal entries
  • Work with executive/senior management on special projects
  • Perform back-up duties as necessary

Minimum Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles
  • 8+ years related experience, preferably in a property management/real estate/construction setting
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA required
  • Knowledge of Yardi would be a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel; proficient in other Microsoft Office programs

Salary Range

Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate's knowledge, experience and skills.

$105,330.00 - $175,550.00
