Position Overview

Exact Science's corporate financial planning & analysis team is seeking an intern for the summer 2025. This team is responsible for a wide variety of key finance deliverables covering ongoing monthly and board of directors reporting, leading financial planning cycles, revenue analytics, and data science efforts. The team also serves as critical resource for ongoing business analysis to support decision making needs that help deliver the vision of Exact Sciences.

As the finance team advances its tools and reporting capabilities, they are looking for support to enhance tools and capabilities that deliver deeper insights and value to the rest of Exact Sciences. The ideal candidate will exhibit a combination of high intellectual curiosity with strong technical and interpersonal skills. The ability to balance independent work with knowing when to seek guidance will be key to the candidate's success.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Enhance existing reporting and analytical tools by increasing efficiency, accuracy, and usability.
  • Establish new capabilities that drive deeper insights into financial performance to support decision making.
  • Assist in maintaining and enhancing current financial reporting and modeling workstreams.
  • Participate in company financial cadences including forecast development and delivery of financial results through the CFO.
  • Collaborate on developing a roadmap for future financial enhancements, identifying areas for process improvement and innovation.
  • Display high attention to detail.
  • Apply strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Represent the broader team culture.
  • Exhibit proactiveness by anticipating team needs.
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
  • Ability to work designated schedule.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for a typical working day.
  • No travel expected for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Pursuing Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or other quantitative discipline.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Excellent professional written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced math and analytical skills.
  • Basic understanding of corporate financials including concepts of accounting and financial statements.
  • Willingness and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Tableau.
  • Familiarity with SQL.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Strong grasp of accounting concepts.

Salary Range:

$34,000.00 - $54,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis.
