Now Hiring: Join Central City Concern as an Acupuncturist (On-Call)

Location: Various CCC sites (e.g. Old Town Clinic, Blackburn, Hooper Detox, and Letty Owings Center)

Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:30am - 5:00pm)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)



  1. Required: Licensed acupuncturist in the State of Oregon.
  2. Required: Experience working in a community health clinic.



SUMMARY: This position provides acupuncture treatments to a population of low income or homeless adults with a broad range or physical, behavioral and social conditions. Acupuncture treatments can be provided to patients with symptoms of cravings, insomnia and other physical and emotional discomfort. This position may work in a primary care, integrative and team- based setting, outpatient alcohol and drug treatment, or medical detoxification facility.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs exams, evaluations, patient work-ups and acupuncture treatments.
  2. Reviews client records when necessary for proper documentation, authorization, referrals and billing.
  3. Interdepartmental communications regarding policies, procedures and coordination of patient care.
  4. Quality assurance/quality improvement of client care.
  5. Oversight of OSHA regulations and compliance.
  6. Attendance of staff meetings, attend all in-service trainings relative to scope of position.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
  8. Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners' and outside providers' patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  1. Demonstration of a working knowledge of prescription of herbal and
  2. nutritional supplements.
  3. Knowledge, training, skill and experience in all aspects of Chinese medicine, including detoxification, chemical dependency treatment and general medical treatment.
  4. Ability to consider impacts of systems of oppression, structural racism, and individual bias on client outcomes.
  5. Demonstrated ability to adhere to trauma-informed care principles.
  6. Experience with care for individuals with complex substance use and mental health backgrounds.
  7. Ability to exhibit strong nursing judgment in the care of complex participants and knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
  8. Ability to treat all diagnoses in clinical setting, including, but not limited to, chemical dependency, general medical, HIV, Hep C with knowledge and ability to prescribe herbal/nutritional supplements.
  9. Knowledge, training, skills and experience in chemical dependency
  10. Intervention; ability to work in an atmosphere where people may be hostile or abusive.
  11. Ability to be a team leader/member and be a creative problem solver.
  12. Ability to work effectively with peers, individual clients and groups; ability to display nonjudgmental attitude.
  13. Ability to work as a community educator.
  14. Ability to manage patient flow during assigned shifts.
  15. Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
  16. Ability to maintain accurate records and necessary paperwork.
  17. Knowledge of de-escalation methods.
  18. Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.
