***TRAVEL REQUIRED: Must be able to deploy within 48-72 hours for Disaster work in the United States both CONUS and OCONUS.****

The contractor Onsite Manager will support the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to support disaster response operations and manage temporary facility support services. They play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects by coordinating activities, managing resources, and overseeing project teams. They are responsible for organizing and scheduling tasks, allocating resources, monitoring progress, and ensuring that projects are completed within specified timelines and budgetary constraints.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Onsite Project Manager:

Pay commensurate with experience.

Onsite Project Manager Responsibilities Include:



  • Responsible for the frontline supervision and management of deployed temporary facility services to include health/safety, vendor management, IT support, security, logistics, medical, and construction staff and equipment.
  • Manage and maintain temporary facilities, including equipment, maintenance, and repairs
  • Monitor schedule, budget, QA/QC and execution of work at disaster location
  • Manage site preparation, mobilization, phase-in, phase-out, and demobilization efforts
  • Responsible for execution of master schedule during disaster response
  • Manage CDRL deliverables as required such as reports and logs
  • Ensure staff is properly badged, in-processed, and trained to work within disaster area
  • Oversee inventory levels and monitor/control ordering and replenishing supplies as required
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively
  • Work flexible hours to lead and support disaster response onsite activities
  • Prepare briefs and presentations as required utilizing Microsoft Office family of products (i.e. Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Access)
  • Support meetings and teleconferences as required with management
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned



Onsite Project Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • A bachelor's degree specialized in facility management and/or civil engineering or related fields with no less than 5 years of professional experience providing project management in a government environment preferably with FEMA or HHS.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are not required but are preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral and written means
  • Ability to present a positive demeanor to individuals, their families, staff, supportive services personnel, and the general public
  • Ability to remain calm in the midst of difficult circumstances and emergencies
  • Able to effectively manage significant documentation
  • Advanced knowledge of disaster services and community resources; Federal, state, tribal and territorial disaster assistance programs, housing & utility assistance and disability benefits
  • Knowledge of the National Response Framework, Emergency Support Function 6
  • Proficient in utilizing Outlook, Word and Excel; PowerPoint, Access, Visio
  • The ability to successfully pass a drug screen and a federal background check is mandatory
  • Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to: Site Manager, Field Project Manager, or Project Site Manager
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
