The Salvation Army Midtown Service and Treatment Center is looking for a Substance Abuse Counselor. This individual will be responsible for counseling clients, conducting intakes, assessments, crisis intervention, developing treatment plans, ongoing follow up counseling and treatment plan reviews, developing safety plans, group therapy, and education and facilitating referrals. This is a full-time position 40 hours per week. 2900 Washington Ave, 63103 Essential Duties:
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field with two years' full-time experience in treatment or rehabilitation of substance abuse required; Alcohol, Drug or Substance Abuse Counselor certified by the Missouri Substance Abuse Counselors Certification Board; Inc. will be considered. In additions, one of the following credentials is required: QSAP, CADC, CRAADC, CCJP, CCDP, CCDP-D, LPC, LCSW or Clinical Psychologist. CPR/First Aid certification required. Must be able to demonstrate general computer, strong organizational and good communication skills. Must be a team player, a self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision. Must demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment. Requires a high level of confidentiality. Physical and Work Environment Requirements: Capable of performing in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, moving client files, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. |
