About This Role: The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for an Assistant Scientist to work as part of a team in the soil testing laboratory. The work as part of a team involves conducting elemental analysis of soil, plant, water and forage samples for farmers, county agents, KSU faculty and federal and state agency staff. Related duties will include preparing standards and reagents, conduct quality control assurance testing throughout the analysis process to ensure both accuracy and precision of analysis. Save and upload files from instruments to computer for report preparation and data archiving. Generate analysis reports for clients. The information developed will be used to make fertilizer recommendations for farmers and support research, extension and regulatory activities in Kansas and other states.
