Automation Technician with a focus on hardware. Maintain and enhance industrial control system components such as programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems, servers and PCs, ensuring reliable and efficient production of Prudhoe Bay facilities. Candidate should be experienced with instrumentation, electronics, and computational systems.
***This is a represented position under the collective bargaining agreement with the USW Local 4959.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all company practices
  • Provide hardware and software support on several manufacturers of PLC's, DCS, SCADA, and PC's
  • Maintenance of existing systems.
  • Participate in upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Participate in design reviews.
  • Participate in installation of new systems.
  • Interface with Automation Engineering on maintenance and support issues.
  • Develop knowledge of the operation and process of each supported facility and its associated instrumentation.

Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years minimum experience with instrument and automation controls in an industrial facility.
  • Two (2) years minimum experience working with PLCs.
  • Ability to work a 12 hour per day, 14/14 day rotational assignment on the North Slope of Alaska.
  • Working knowledge of GE Fanuc, Allen-Bradley, Modicon or similar PLC's.
  • Working knowledge of automation hardware and process I/O (digital and analog).
  • Practical networking experience, primarily Ethernet IEEE 802.3 and TCP/IP.
  • Familiar with control system databases such as IP.21/SetCim and Honeywell Experion.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.

Education Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or certificate of completion from a 2 year technical school that is accredited or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Preferred:

  • ISA Control Systems Technician Level 3 Certification
  • MCSE
  • Network Certifications (CCNA)
