Summary:

The Family/ Intake Therapist provides intake assessments in the Emergency Department and over the phone to determine appropriate level of care and treatment. This role also provides family assessments, family therapy, crisis intervention, and telephone triage for psychiatric inpatients, PHP, ER, and discharged patients. The Family/ Intake Therapist will participate in group therapy, multi-disciplinary treatment, diagnostic conferences, and diagnostic interviews. This person will also provide case management services for all patients, manages patients' mental health benefits, and keeps informed of all information regarding the patients' treatment and their payor. The Family/ Intake Therapist will need to be available for Intake on-call as needed. The Family / Intake Therapist will support our inpatient psych unit. This person will also provide case management services for all patients and help with discharge planning and providing appropriate resources and referrals.

This is a PRN position and will work weekends and cover planned PTO, staff call-ins and help at times of high census. 8:45am - 4pm

*** May have to stay later than 4pm, can leave as soon as the unit needs and documentation are complete

Qualifications:

  • Masters required in Social Work or related field

  • Child growth and development education required

  • Experience in family therapy

  • Hospital experience preferred

  • Pediatric experience preferred

  • Licensed by State of Texas: LMSW, LCSW or LPC2

  • CPR Heartsaver

  • CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date

  • Qualified as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) by the Texas Department of Health
