Pay Rate/Range: The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $60,260.89 to $65,264.73/yr. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this position is $60,260.89 to $96,945.44/yr.

Brief Summary of Job Duties:
Uses Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Ion Mobility based Mass Spectrometry (IMS-MS) to test the efficiency of molecular agents in inhibiting the assemble of core peptides of the protein alpha synuclein responsible for Parkinson's disease. Also engages in accurate sample preparation and interpretation of the data. Oversees and trains undergraduate students in both experiment and data analysis for the project.
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Ion Mobility based Mass Spectrometry (IMS-MS).
- Ability to quantify, analyze, and interpret data.
- Ability to prepare accurate samples for testing.
- Bachelors of Science Degree or equivalent experience and / or training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years related experience.

Job Functions and Percentages of Time:
- 50% Molecular agents efficiency testing - Uses Atomic Force Microscopy and Ion Mobility based Mass Spectrometry to test the efficiency of molecular agents under the supervision of the PI.
- 25% Sample preparation - Accurately prepares samples for testing under the general guidance of the PI. Supervises and trains undergraduates in the lab on accurate sample preparation.
- 25% Data interpretation - Interprets data resulting from AFM and IMS-MS testing.
