Job Summary
:
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant is responsible for managing the organization's accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and reconciliation of payments. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal departments and external customers. The AR Accountant plays a key role in maintaining financial records and supporting the organization's cash flow by ensuring all receivables are recorded and collected efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and issue invoices to customers in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor accounts receivable ledger to track and follow up on outstanding invoices, resolving any discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Perform daily cash applications, recording customer payments (via check, wire transfer, credit card, etc.) to appropriate accounts.
  • Reconcile customer accounts to ensure accurate payment application, and investigate and resolve any payment discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address billing inquiries, disputes, and customer account issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of communications with customers regarding overdue accounts and manage the collection process, including sending reminder notices.
  • Generate regular aging reports, monitor overdue accounts, and prepare accounts for potential write-offs or bad debt provisions in coordination with management.
  • Assist with month-end closing processes by ensuring that AR-related transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support related to accounts receivable transactions.
  • Continuously seek process improvements in AR operations and participate in the implementation of best practices and accounting software upgrades.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, accounting, or related field.
