POSITION TYPE: Seasonal Full Time

STARTING PAY: $15-16 Plus tips

SUPERVISORY: Yes SUPERVISED BY: Gourmandie Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Supervise the day-to-day operations, under the direction of the Gourmandie Manager, of Schweitzer's premier wine shop. This will include assisting the staff, prepping food, selling wine as well as assigned administrative duties (i.e. inventory, ordering, cash drawers, etc.).

Applicants must be 21 years or older.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for the kitchen and food prep the majority of the time.
  • Will open and close the shop as needed.
  • Responsible for supervising safe food preparation methods, portion sizes, garnishing and presentation of food in order to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner.
  • Assist Manager with menu planning and food ordering.
  • Receive product deliveries, ensuring invoice and order accuracy.
  • Stocks, rotates, merchandises and faces products accordingly.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Idaho State Liquor and Identification laws.
  • Maintain the Department of Health food safe practices and ensure staff are as well.
  • Assist Manager as needed with staff management including training, discipline, and coaching.
  • Assist manager with inventory management including month end and yearly inventory counts.
  • Will effectively communicate with the Manager about all aspects of daily shop happenings.
  • Must be available nights/weekends/holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Combined standing/walking for up to 10 hours per shift. Will stand in place for up to 8-10 hours at a time. Will lift up to 60 lbs. occasionally. Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist and reach above shoulder level. Will use hands for grasping and fine manipulation. Worksite is 95% inside and 5% outside. Exposed to ice/snow coming to and from work during the winter season.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Should have knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities, services, and activities. Effectively communicate with guests and coworkers. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

SKILLS: Must have excellent interactive skills with customers and co-workers. Accurate and consistent cash handling. Ability to multi-task and remain calm and courteous in a face paced environment. Wine and Specialty Food knowledge preferred.

EDUCATION: High school diploma required. Must be at least 21 years old to oversee alcohol service

EXPERIENCE: Grocery, retail, wine and food knowledge/experience preferred. Cash handling and wine steward experience helpful. Supervisory experience preferred.

LICENSE NEEDED: None

MACHINES OR TOOLS OPERATED: Slicer, mixer, blender, dishwasher, coffee grinder, knives, grill, scale, point of sales system and misc. hand tools.

JUDGEMENT / MENTAL COMPLEXITY: Medium to High

REVIEW SCHEDULE: This position and the person filling it will be evaluated once per season.
