Shift: 12-hour night & day shifts - 36 hours per week DAYS 7:00 AM TO 7:00 PM OR NIGHTS 7:00 PM TO 7:30 AM WEEKEND OPTION AVAILABLE COMMITMENT LENGTH: 12 WEEKS (possibility to extend for additional commitments) Locations: MU Health Care, Columbia, MO, or Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City, MO (Tiger Flex Nurses may be required to float between Columbia & Jefferson City campuses during times of critical staffing needs.) Department: Various clusters such as ICU, Med Surg, Women's Services, Neonatal and Pediatric Services, ER and Psychiatric Services (Clusters determined in interview based on departmental need and applicant experience and updated through years of service.) We currently only have ICU and Med Surg clusters available for the Columbia MUHC campus, multiple cluster options available for the CRMC Jefferson City campus. * Base Pay: $56 per hour * Automatic Tiger Flex Differential: $15 per hour * Plus (as applicable): o Shift Differentials * Additional $2.75 per hour for evening shift * Additional $9.00 per hour for night shift * Additional $3.00 per hour for weekend shift * Compounding: weekend nights would be $12 per hour o Additional Clusters (determined during department interview based on experience and departmental need): * No differential for one cluster * Additional $4.00 per hour for working two clusters * Additional $5.00 per hour for working three clusters * Additional $6.00 per hour for working four clusters * THIS IS A NON-BENEFIT ELIGIBLE ROLE
We're looking for nurses to join our Tiger Flex Program-a contract-based nursing program offerings the perks of travel nursing without the travel. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms, and develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. This position requires the ability to float to designated nursing unit clusters or shifts to meet staffing needs. This position may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law. Tiger Flex Details (full details in HR-5043): Full-time Tiger Flex (non-benefit eligible): Will work as a contracted Tiger Flex nurse within Staffing Support Services for 36 hours per week. The RN Tiger Flex nurse must work two shifts every other weekend. The RN Tiger Flex nurse must work at least 50% of holidays within the employee's 12-week contract. Holidays are outlined in policy HR-4002. RN Tiger Flex wages, shift differentials, and clusters are outlined in the Tiger Flex RN Compensation Guide. The additional rewards established are calculated by pay period. * MUHC RN's (internal transfers) may not return to their home department within 12-months of entering the Tiger Flex Program. * A Tiger Flex nurse who commits to working as a full-time benefits eligible Staff Nurse at MU HealthCare will receive a $2500 reward paid out in 4 equal installments of $625. This reward will be paid effective the 2nd pay period after beginning full-time employment as a benefit eligible employee and will be paid monthly going forward. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Assess the patient's condition and nursing needs, sets goals, and prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient, including discharge planning. Assess, intervene, and reassess the patient's self-report/symptoms of pain promptly. Utilize an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment. Demonstrate an understanding of medications with regards to action and side effects. Report pertinent information to appropriate individual. Educate patients and significant others about their medications. Demonstrate the ability to evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes. Maintain the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and assigned nursing unit. Participate in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups. Report pertinent observations and reaction regarding patients to the appropriate person (i.e. physicians, head nurse, charge nurse, and/or nursing supervisor) and records those observations accurately and concisely. Provide quality care to patients and work with multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest patient satisfaction. May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days. One (1) year of acute care RN experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
