DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is professional social services work for Crawford County Human Services. The Agency's direct service staff is divided into 2 units:

  • Intake: Assessment for Intake and Child Protective Services
  • Ongoing: for ongoing General Protective, Placement and Adoption Services
All caseworkers must be prepared to provide a full range of social services to individuals who request services from the Agency and to persons referred to the Agency without respect to the unit to which the caseworker has been assigned. Therefore, a caseworker's daily activities may fall primarily within one of the following descriptions depending upon the unit to which an individual is assigned, but activities can and will cross over into services largely provided by another unit, depending upon the needs of the child/family being served and Agency staffing and workload. This crossover affects day-to-day operations and is particularly relevant when the caseworker serves on an On-call Rotation and thus may be called upon to provide any and all Agency services to the community daily.
