You will lead the Nation's premier gateway to space for National Security, Civil and Commercial payloads into the future by translating system requirements into the design and development of customized systems in an agile environment. ENSCO, Inc. is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to support the Launch and Test Range System (LTRS) in various stages of sustainment supporting Space Force. Position is located at Cocoa Beach, FL (Patrick Space Force Base). The Staff Systems Engineer will provide Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) support for various instrumentation systems such as communication, telemetry, radar, communications, command, weather, optics, surveillance, and associated systems. Work closely with the Launch and Test Range System (LTRS) cross-functional teams to recommend and identify technologies and solutions that improve the acquisition processes and the modernization of the Launch Ranges to support a substantial increase in commercial, civilian, and DoD launch services.

Duties include:

  • Identify new range system solutions and integrate efficiencies in alignment range objectives to include procurement, assessment, and a demonstration that streamlines range operations, creating efficiencies in both operations and process.
  • Coordinate transition and integration requirements to achieve successful transition of approved solutions into the operational baseline.
  • Perform engineering of system architectures, requirements analysis and decomposition, including system performance test and verification.
  • Conduct engineering analyses to predict and define problems, define/design actionable corrective measures, and operational implementation of Launch Range and Network systems.
  • Support system and subsystem requirements, architecture, and risk management products.
  • Support project life cycle activities, including pre-award acquisition, requirements and design reviews, integration, test, logistics, and operational turnover.
  • Work with developers, associate contractors, and government counterparts.
  • Track requirements to subsystems, generate requirements documentation, validate design meets requirements.
  • Participate or lead technical meetings and government-led studies, assess technical baselines, and ensure system and project modifications meet requirements

Qualifications Required (Skills)


  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology, or similar, and/or equivalent with 7 years of industry experience.
  • Experience with requirements traceability, system-of-systems integration and testing, test planning, development, test execution/witness, and test reporting
  • Technical skills to understand and analyze system problems, root cause analysis, schedule risk assessment, solution definition, and conduct in-depth technical trade analysis, assessments and explain results of technical studies in a system engineering context.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION, FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN.

Qualifications Desired


  • Experience with Radar, Area and RF Surveillance, and/or Optical instrumentation and systems
  • Master's Degree in Systems Engineering Field, Software Engineering, Computer Science or demonstrated experience.
  • Working knowledge of Eastern and/or Western Launch Ranges.
  • Engineering experience with Launch and Test Range Systems (LTRS), IP Networks, Range of the Future (ROTF), and related.
  • Cyber, technical, or project-related certifications, such as CISSP, CSEP, or PMP.
  • Current DOD TS or TS/SCI security clearance.
