The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.

SPA's Strategic Division's Strategic Development Group (SDG) supports critical U.S. government programs providing Systems Engineering support, Systems Safety support, and Financial Analysis support.

SDG is hiring for a Systems Engineer - Subject Matter Expert.



Responsibilities

The Engineer will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), supporting the Strategic Systems Program (SSP) Launcher Branch (SP22) as a missile systems engineer. The primary responsibility will be to assist the Launcher Branch in coordinating between SSP and Prime contractors for the development of new missile components for the Sea-Launched Cruise Missile-Nuclear (SLCM-N) program. The candidate will also provide direct support to launcher programs and projects as assigned by SSP. This role will require regular interaction with senior government and industry stakeholders, participation in planning meetings (both in person and virtually), reviewing technical plans and processes, and assisting in resolving technical and programmatic issues.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

    U.S. Citizen with DoD Secret Clearance
  • Master's degree or higher in Engineering
  • 18+ years of technical engineering management associated with US submarine programs with a focus on submarine construction, submarine design, non-propulsion electronic system design and integration, and strategic weapons system production and system integration
  • Knowledge of U.S. Navy strategic programs, particularly related to missile systems or launchers, such as SLCM-N, Trident, or similar platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with senior government and industry stakeholders to provide technical and programmatic advice

Desired Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Previous experience supporting Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) or familiarity with SSP Launcher Branch operations
