Position: Blown Film Operator I Location: Elk Grove Wage: $25.41/hr Shift Differential: $2.00/hr Night Shift: 5:45pm - 6:15am Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Extrusion Operator Level 1
- Set up and operate blown film extrusion line, using materials in pellets to produce plastic film meeting specs.
- Install or change screens, set up trim scrap, palletizer and grinder, film winder and pellet grinder and adjust dies.
- Visually check film for defects, check dimensions with micrometers and make necessary adjustments.
- Set Up raw material feeding system.
- Maintain records of material use and production.
- Follow equipment workplace cleaning/sanitation procedures, to complete Sanitation Checklist
- Follow GMP's and PRP's and production SOP's
- Conduct and document all quality checks for intermediate product
- QC checks. i.e. capacity, COF, gauge, width.
- Finished material handling.
- Daily housekeeping procedures.
- Regular, consistent attendance and punctuality are essential to the job.
- Report all food safety violations to management.
- Cut cores.
- Replace and process trim boxes by the grinders as necessary.
- Participate on the start up of the lines and change overs
- Other duties as assigned.
- Participate in Sonoco's Performance System (SPS) activities as required - 5Star, Pillar Teams, Audits, Near Misses, etc.
- Regular, consistent attendance and punctuality are required and expected for job performance.
Skills Requirements:
- Read, Speak and Write English.
- Knowledge in blown film extrusion,
- Knowledge in resins, co-extrusion of a variety of plastics.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent job experience
