Job Description

Danfoss Turbocor Compressors Inc, a leading-edge technology company in Tallahassee, Florida, is looking for a 2nd shift R&D Test Technician. The position is to support testing on the 2nd shift with regularly scheduled hours from 2:30PM to 11:00PM Monday through Friday according to the standard DTC 8-hour sift schedule. Must be available to work other shifts as required.

Our products are high speed, oil-free HVAC compressors using magnetic bearings, variable speed direct drive and digital control technologies. The ProductionTechnician will be responsible for mass-production of varying models of oil-free compressors by performing and participating in component parts preparation and line assembly operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Compressor installation and removal (mechanical & electrical)
  • Test equipment & compressor configuration & setup
  • Perform compressor tests in accordance with formal test requests (TRF)
  • Maintain accurate and complete test logs
  • Record, organize and report test data in accordance with the TRF
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:

Education and/or Experience:



  • Must be a high school graduate
  • Related studies in HVAC field
  • Must be EPA certified to handle refrigerants
  • Motivated and willing to learn
  • Fundamental computer knowledge (Windows, MS Office)
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Able to work flexible hours (different shifts)
  • Able to work unsupervised


Other Competencies:

  • Fundamental computer knowledge (Windows, MS Office)


Preferred Qualifications: (Education, Skills, Experience, and/or Languages that are nice to have but not required):



  • Refrigeration knowledge a plus
  • Brazing/welding skills a plus
