Job Summary

The Project Leader - II is accountable for the end-to-end execution of assigned Site Minor Programs for one or more manufacturing plants.

The Project Leader - II is accountable for the end-to-end execution of assigned Site Minor Programs for one or more manufacturing plants.
* The total value of the Site Minor Programs being executed will be $2M.
* The typical range of a minor project being executed by Project Leader - II is $1M.
Working with leadership, technology, maintenance, operations, engineering, safety, and quality, the Project Leader-II is accountable to the site and Regional Engineering Manager or Site Engineering Manager for capital projects implementation, status reporting and optimal utilization of site team/external engineering in compliance with site and corporate work processes.

Responsibilities/Description:
* Detailed knowledge of engineering principles, concepts, industry practices and standards .
* Is familiar with Local and Industry Design Codes and requirements.
* Coordinates Basic Data development and identifies when to engage Process Engineers, Operations Manufacturing Technology and other functions as required.
* Works with team to identify appropriate design deliverables.
* Drives design deliverables for projects.
* Drives safety in design and execution of projects.
* Disciplined approach to executing IFF capital portfolio using the Minor Project Process (MPP).
* Disciplined approach to executing plans, and track progress of projects through design phases from inception to handover.
* Learning to provide direction and vision to the project team.
* Supports Readiness to Operations activities.
* Performs project close out activities including operational handover archiving, and financial project close.
* Works with internal site customers such as technology, maintenance, operations, engineering, safety, and quality.
* Works with high performing teams from an external engineering partner.
* Provides metrics required (Safety, Performance, Cost, Schedule).
* Drives with Site Leadership definition and prioritization of projects to be implemented for the next 3 years.
* Understands Discounted Cash Flow Models (DCF) for GR/IM projects.
* Provides monthly Cost Control and update Forecast according to real progress vs plans.
* Provides detailed status reports for the Monthly Capital Connect Meetings and EcoSys Dashboards
* Engages early and independently with Buyer.
* Drives the use of preferred vendors / suppliers and alliance partners.
* Learning to communicate project issues.
* Learning to build effective communication between the team and stakeholders.
Knows the fundamentals of manufacturing plants and departmental functions. Has a detailed knowledge of:
* Site manufacturing process.
* Process Equipment Trains, Utilities and DCS (Distributed Control System) Systems.
* Maintenance department functions and systems.
* Uses site Management of Change system.
* Participates in Process Improvement Initiatives.
* Understands the business justification (RP, MA, SF, EN, EL GR, IM, Quality) and provides input into development of the objectives of each Minor Project Request Form (MPRF).
* Basic knowledge of accounting practices systems (SAP, Accounts payable, Fixed Assets).
* Builds relationships with internal customers and partners with them to achieve project success.
* Responsible for the safe execution of all field construction activities leveraging, when needed, Construction Management through Engineering contractors.
* Prepares preliminary construction safety plan.
* Applies Life Saving Principles and applicable EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) standards.
* Actively pursues continuous improvement in EHS and pursues the interdependent state of project team.
* Supports Job Safety Analysis/Safe Work Permit development and "toolbox" meetings prior to contractor work.
* Performs meaningful safety audits and tracks safety observations.
* Drives constructability reviews and integrates findings in Scopes of Work.
* Works with procurement to set up and execute bid meetings.
* Can develop and maintain a construction schedule
* Manages contractor adherence to scopes of work.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or Equivalent technical experience in Engineering fields: Process / Chemical Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Bio-Tech, Food Technology Engineering
* Project Management
* Cost Control
* Scheduling and achieving schedules
* Able to self-manage and prioritize multiple minor projects in the Site Minor Program
* Demonstrated Ability to lead and work effectively with diverse Teams
* 2 - 5 years of experience in the related field and the ability to work independently
* Relevant industry experience (Pharmaceutical/Biopharma, Food, Chemical)
Training / Certifications:
* OSHA 30 or equivalent for Construction Safety Rules & Regulations preferred
