As a Buyer you will be expected to collaborate with the Engineering and Management staff in Hexagon's Integrated Products Division (IPD) to evaluate suppliers, developing purchasing plans, and liaise with accounting for the sourcing of RFQs, competitive pricing, and release of purchase orders. This is a dynamic opportunity in which a talented buyer with engineering product lifecycle management knowledge can thrive as an embedded team member working on a diverse array of multidisciplinary projects in the integrated systems arena. We are seeking a highly motivated, trained, and talented buyer to support advanced technology programs from the research and development phase to full productization.
This position requires onsite support and daily collaboration with our Integrated Products Division at our Huntsville, AL facility.

This job is for you if you:
  • Enjoy creating solicitations, supporting proposals, conducting price and cost analysis, negotiating price/cost and price/cost-related terms and other subcontract provision ensuring consistency with client requirements and procurement policies/procedures under supervisor guidance. Procurement of higher complexity and risk, involving complex supplier negotiations.
  • Providing materials support by considering the price, quality, availability, and reliability of suppliers while coordinating and scheduling material purchase orders based on MRP output and evaluation of reports and supplier responses to RFQs. Processing requisitions, return merchandise orders, arranging transport of goods, and issuing Purchase Orders while keeping management updated on the status of orders and ensuring products are delivered on time and meet standards. Occasional travel to supplier's facilities for evaluation of quality workflow processes, supplier production pipeline capabilities, or pre-bid visit for qualifying suppliers during our selection process.
What we are expecting from you:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience purchasing for production programs supplying US Government clients. Prior experience buying tangible goods is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and strong customer service mentality.
  • Ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations.
  • Familiarity with general counterfeit policies in relations to vendor source selection
  • Deltek Cost Point Materials Purchasing, Purchasing Planning, and Vendor Management experience preferred.
  • Supply Chain Procurement Certification required or achieved within six months of hiring: Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) certification for Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or Institute for Supply Management certification for Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
  • Experience with Non-Disclosure Agreements
  • Experience with Contractor Purchasing System Reviews (CPSR) preferred
The ideal candidate will have previously served as buyer with proven experience and a minimum of five years purchasing products, goods, and services for an integrated production team.
