Moog Commercial Aircraft Group is seeking a Transitions Manager Commercial Aftermarket Group (CAG).

You will act as the site focal for all transition activity.In this role you will manage the execution and takes responsibility of the overall project performance and governance of the top-level transition plan. You will be accountable for the monitoring of adherence to the transition process and plans. You will participate in strategic planning and decisions impacting transition activities of larger scope.Working closely with cross functional business groups to ensure transition plan is progressing, you will drive behaviors, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration with respect to transition timelines and readiness plans. You will be responsible in identifying significant problems, issues, and opportunities that cannot be resolved through normal actions and elevates to the Site Leadership and Global Transition Manager to mitigate risks and impact to the end delivery requirements of the product transition. Reporting to the80/20 Senior Manager you may be located in East Aurora, New York (preferred) or Torrance, California.

As a Transitions Manager Commercial Aftermarket Group (CAG) you will:

  • Work closely with Site Leadership team to ensure support to the transition activities, address any systemic issues that will impact transitions, and define the right level of governance that will enable the success of work transfers to the site.
  • Participate in the creation of transition plans using defined standard tools and guided by existing processes, BMDLs, and/or Standard Work.
  • Monitor project milestones, identify potential risks, and define mitigating actions to ensure successful execution of the transition plan.
  • Regularly communicate upcoming transition strategies driven by the Commercial Aircraft Group strategies to Site Leadership team.
  • Collaborate with other Commercial Groups and Sites and other functions like Supply Chain and Engineering, to develop and execute transition initiatives.
  • Define and report metrics to ensure transition information is communicated, monitored, and trended for timeliness and effectiveness with appropriate actions taken.
  • Ensure processes are in place to alert management of potential or actual risks to completing planned transitions and the impact of the risks.
  • Demonstrate decision making authority as necessary and influencing skills to instruct others to minimize schedule slip with respect to the project plan.
  • Chairs project coordination meetings across manufacturing sites/supplies/cross functional business groups and assists in facility speedy resolution to project plan challenges.
  • Recognizes significant problems, issues, and opportunities that cannot be resolved through normal actions and elevates to the Commercial Transition Manager to mitigate risks and impact to the end delivery requirements of the part transition.
  • Manage the performance and career growth of Project Transition Leaders. 12.Align with Site and Commercial Aircraft Group strategies including Cost Targets.

To be considered for the Transitions Manager (CAG) role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, with a minimum of three years of professional work experience, preferably in engineering.
  • Work experience in the function of Project Management, Program Management, Materials, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, Methods, or Manufacturing Engineering and/or Operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading work transfer initiatives, multiple or highly complex projects, and use of project management tools.
  • Exhibited strong sense of leadership, effective facilitation, emotional intelligence, and team collaboration skills.
  • Deep understanding and demonstrated experience of continuous improvement principles.
  • Travel requirements: 10% (international and/or Domestic)

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $105,000.00-$145,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
