Reporting To: Manager, Rgnl Trade Compliance
Work Schedule: Fully Remote or Hybrid if Local - Buffalo, NY
As the Operation Trade Specialist (OTS), you will have a hands-on role supporting and facilitating all activities related to the export and import of goods, technology, and services by obtaining required export/import licenses and government authorizations to ensure Moog's compliance with U.S. export / import laws. To be considered for the Operation Trade Specialist role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:
- Typically, a bachelor's degree and 10 years of related experienced with 5+ years of direct export/import licensing experience is required. An advanced degree in International Business or Engineering, with trade-related certifications and/or manufacturing environment experience is highly desirable. An associate degree and additional relevant years of experience may be considered.
- Advanced knowledge of U.S. export/import regulations including ITAR, EAR, ATF and OFAC.
- Experience using SAP, GTS, OCR EASE, SNAP-R, and DECCS would be beneficial.
- U.S. Citizenship is a requirement of this role.
As an Operation Trade Specialist, you will:
- Serve as the subject matter expert and become an Empowered Official (EO) for the organization, facilitating and consulting on trade matters to support the development and administration of international trade.
- Generate licenses and U.S. government authorizations necessary for compliance with U.S. trade regulations, having direct ownership in crafting these articles, ensuring all requirements are met, providing necessary stakeholder training, and maintaining them throughout their lifecycle until expiration or termination.
- Communicate trade requirements to the organization. Identify, counsel, and administer all aspects of business activity which are impacted by trade regulations.
- Demonstrate Subject Matter Expertise in ITAR, EAR, ATF and OFAC regulations affecting the trade of Moog's product, technology, and services.
- Act as the 'go to' in the use of automated licensing tools and resources as well as responsible for the legality of transactions and accuracy of data.
- As the SME in trade compliance, you'll continuously increase knowledge and understanding of the trade compliance arena and remain aware of and communicate changes in policies and regulations.
- Communicate procedures associated with the licensing process, implementation of provisos, technology control, foreign visitor control, foreign travel and hiring of foreign nationals and facilitate the necessary level of training for trade compliance.
- Support domestic and international business travel, up to 5%.
