We are seeking a paralegal who will support our litigation lawyers in Consumer Financial Services (CFS) and provide the highest quality of legal assistance to our clients. The lawyers in CFS advise on regulatory matters, assist in the design and documentation of credit products, and represent clients in class actions, government regulatory enforcement proceedings, and other lawsuits nationwide. You will be responsible for managing, organizing, and storing client documents and data; promptly providing this information to internal legal teams; preparing case summaries and updates; drafting pleadings; coordinating docketing deadlines; submitting filings to state and federal courts; and act as a primary communicant with clients for this information on individual matters. As a paralegal, you will assume responsibility with minimal supervision, exercise initiative and judgment to make decisions within the scope of your assigned authority. What We're Looking For:
Required Experience: Four-year college degree preferred, or significant relevant work experience in place of college degree. Prior experience as a paralegal; paralegal certificate required. Previous experience working in a law firm or legal environment required. Demonstrated technology skills including software applications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, document management systems and Kofax are required. Must be able to work overtime and travel to client and/or trial sites, as needed. Time worked in excess of 40 hours per week will be paid at time and one-half of the hourly rate. The salary range for this position is from $95,000 - $110,000 depending upon experience and location.
