Job Summary
The Coordinator of Special Programs coordinates administrative and reporting activities in the day-to-day operation of an assigned program or project.
This temporary and non-benefits eligible position will support the UT Dallas Center for Children and Families outreach programs. Key responsibilities for this person will be to support our Grow With Me program (community-based developmental screening program) and Play With Me program (early parent-child playful learning class) and help adapt these projects into Mandarin. The person hired for this position would be trained on (a) conducting developmental screeners in English and Mandarin and then administering them at community screening fairs and (b) attending the current Play With Me program, getting trained on it, and leading a site in Mandarin in the spring.

This is a grant-funded position, and continued employment is contingent on the availability of funds. Funding is currently anticipated through August 2025.
Minimum Education and Experience

High school graduate or equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, psychology, or a related field.
  • Employment or practicum experience working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers and/or their families
  • Bilingual in Mandarin and English

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the Program Managers of the Grow with Me and Play With Me outreach programs
  • Facilitate weekly in-person playful learning programs for young children ages 0-3 and their parents
  • Conduct developmental screenings on children ages 0-5 at Play With Me and other community locations
  • Complete 1-month and 3-month follow-up calls of clients served
  • Organize events including an annual family celebration and Screening Fairs, in collaboration with local agencies
  • Data entry and management
  • Other duties as assigned

Remote Work:
After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. May be required to use personal computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
Travel:
This position is subject to local travel to and from program sites. Other occasional travel may occur such as for training/development, conferences, etc.
