The Marketing and Communications office within Cornell Engineering is a collaborative team charged with the development, execution, and assessment of a comprehensive and cohesive communication and marketing strategy. The team's responsibilities include shaping and governing the college's messaging and branding, supporting college leaders and departments in communicating consistently and effectively, and working with the Cornell's University Relations office to ensure that the college is recognized a center of excellence. Communication services are carried out through a matrixed organizational system in which University Relations houses the departments of News (Cornell Chronicle), Media Relations (pitching and servicing media requests), Brand (cornell.edu, multimedia production, brand management and governance), Strategic Communications (communications plans, key messaging, social media management), and Cornellians (digital alumni publication). Communicators in colleges, schools, and units regularly collaborate with, and consult, University Relations departments. University Relations serves as a partner and resource for all college/unit communicators. The Marketing Manager plays a crucial role in developing and implementing new marketing strategies that position the college center of excellence in education and teaching. They will have a particular focus on marketing that drives interest and enrollment in the college's Master of Engineering programs. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Marketing and Communications and is responsible for identifying marketing opportunities, developing comprehensive marketing plans, and ensuring marketing effectiveness and consistency across schools and departments. The manager will implement effective analytics tools, track metrics, and prepare insightful reports to guide decision-making. This position will have a particular focus marketing Master of Engineering programs, which currently includes 14 on-campus programs and four distance learning programs. The Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in collaborating with our M.Eng. Programs Support Team and our schools and departments to implement a strategy that drives increases in interest, applications, and matriculation for these important programs. As a key member of the communications team, this individual will manage projects and serve as the point person for externally facing marketing efforts. They will also oversee vendor relationships as needed. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of marketing best practices in higher education.
