JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The successful applicant will assist with Agronomic Pesticide educational activities in Pennsylvania with a focus in southeast counties including, but not limited to York, Lebanon, Lancaster, Berks and Schuylkill. Activities may include, and are not limited to:

  • Prepare and present pesticide safety and agronomic integrated pest management information to groups of farmers at Penn State Extension, partnering organization and industry sponsored meetings as needed by statewide agronomy educator team. Meetings will be held both daytime and evenings across primarily capital region and southeastern Pennsylvania.
  • Assist with planning for pesticide meetings and other educational events, preparing supplies, contacting host locations, marketing, and coordination of local events.
  • Assist local Agronomy Educator as needed with performing tasks outlined by the Field and Forage Crops Team including providing support for winter agronomic workshops and programs.
  • Use CRM software systems to report impact data to Penn State of activities. Communicate activities with the team and area managers.
  • Complete professional development and trainings online and in-person as required.

Applicant must have valid driver's license and personal vehicle to travel. Mileage reimbursed at the federal rate for business travel. This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
