The IT program manager will serve as the project and/or program manager for IT supported initiatives at Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company. As a PM, you will be responsible for the successful execution of projects, from project initiation through final closeout. You will work in a matrix style organization requiring excellent coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Position Overview:

The IT program manager will serve as the project and/or program manager for IT supported initiatives at Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company. As a PM, you will be responsible for the successful execution of projects, from project initiation through final closeout. You will work in a matrix style organization requiring excellent coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • You will lead a portfolio of IT initiatives aimed at transforming and raising performance level of Varian business lines, business functions, and regions
  • You will team up with technical and business teams to deliver initiatives for integrated and intelligent value chain management
  • You will organize inter-disciplinary teams (business& IT) to be able to manage complex business and technical risks
  • You will support multi-functional teams of business experts in identifying and solving complex data and system dependencies

Responsibilities:

  • Direct all phases of projects from inception through completion
  • Work closely with project sponsor and cross-functional teams to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives
  • The program manager will also collaborate with other members of the PMO team to implement tools and processes to enable a high functioning, high impact, analytically driven IT organization
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance of the assigned project(s)
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Lead and drive multi-disciplinary and cross functional teams, including engineering, operations, vendor management, logistics and services to ensure successful project execution
  • Provide regular updates to team, management, and PMO on work performed, plans, budget, and overall status
  • Identify project problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications
  • Work with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department
  • Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program reports for managers and stakeholders
  • 20% travel possible (national and international)

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Education

Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) and 8 years of related experience or Masters Degree with 6 years of related experience.

Knowledge And Experience

  • Advanced communication skills (Both oral and written)
  • Advanced presentation skills
  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with HCM (e.g., Workday) or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
  • Business process mapping, Value stream mapping
  • Siemens Healthineers business and product lines
  • SHS IT Service Portfolio
  • Varian IT Service Portfolio
  • IT Infrastructure services and architecture
  • Information security & data privacy as applicable in healthcare industry
  • IT systems in a quality regulated medical environment
  • Current IT technologies and standards
  • ITIL knowledge together with ITSM experience
  • Working with Lean, Agile and/or CCPM methodologies

    Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience
  • Project Management experience within large/complex business driven projects; PMP or equivalent certification preferred
  • Experience in working with C-level and senior leadership
  • Vendor/supplier management
  • ITIL Certification or process knowledge

The base pay range for this position is

Min $109,800 - Max $197,800

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
