Posting Summary
The School of Arts and Sciences, Department of Sociology seeks instructors to teach undergraduate courses in Sociology. Specific courses to be taught will be determined by the department each semester. Courses may be introductory surveys or upper-level courses focused on specific themes or topics. As the instructor of record, the individual is responsible for preparing the course syllabus, delivering lectures, and leading discussions, assessing student work in a timely manner, holding weekly office hours, responding to student emails, and submitting final course grades to the registrar. We are only accepting applications for those willing to teach in-person. Minimum salary for 3-credit course is $8,055 ($2,685 per credit).

Minimum Education and Experience
Master's degree in Sociology or related field required; Ph.D. in Sociology or related field preferred. Previous teaching experience preferred.

Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Prospective employees should speak with their hiring manager to determine which policies apply to the role or position for which they are applying. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain a medical or religious exemption from the University will result in rescission of a candidate's offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
