What you'll be doing:

Responsibilities will include:

  • Tracking and applying existing, proposed and new statutes and regulations to Verizon's operations to ensure compliance.

  • Addressing state public utilities commission inquiries, developing and completing compliance report filings as needed, including filings relating to service quality, financial reporting, regulatory fees and assessments, tariffs and pricing.

  • Supporting the management of consultant, legal, membership and philanthropic relationships for the State Government Affairs team.

  • Onboarding new law firms/consultants including establishing and maintaining contractual relationships.

  • Providing training and billing support for vendors' use of the TyMetrix 360 billing platform including the use of proper matters, information regarding lobbying reporting and services provided.

  • Ensuring vendor billing is accurate and is remitted and processed in a timely manner.

  • Developing and maintaining annual departmental budgets; tracking monthly expenses to budget throughout the year identifying significant variances.

  • Tracking and managing invoicing and documentation related to memberships and corresponding commitments in relevant state and local membership organizations.

  • Tracking corporate political contributions and Verizon Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions to designated charitable organizations.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant experience.

  • Experience with advanced spreadsheets.

  • Presentations and word processing skills.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage complex work responsibilities in various areas with strict deadlines.

  • Unwavering commitment to ethics and compliance.

  • Ability to work independently, have strong analytical skills and a general knowledge of telecom products and services.

  • Demonstrated planning, organizational and verbal and written communications skills.

  • Self-starter and evidence of intellectual curiosity.

  • Public policy, community engagement, advocacy experience on behalf of a technology, communications, cable TV or public utilities business/industry.

  • Broad knowledge of Verizon operations and business functions or extensive positioning already established in territory.

  • Experience with TyMetrix 360 and CyberGrants.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances. If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $70,000.00 and $147,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
