Merchandise Manager - Toys & Specialty Hardgoods
Job Description We are seeking a dynamic Merchandise Manager responsible for toys and specialty hardgoods. What You'll Do: As a Merchandise Manager, you'll support the hardgoods division by developing, leading, managing, and participating in various merchandising and design activities. You will work closely with the Divisional Merchandising Manager and Brand Leaders, overseeing the financial profitability of assigned product lines while ensuring a well-organized approach to your responsibilities. In addition, you'll: * Drive Entrepreneurial Strategies: Develop merchandise assortments for multiple brands based on sales data and market trends that align with brand strategies, demonstrating innovative thinking and a proactive mindset. * Collaborate Effectively: Convey product ideas to divisional leaders and the cross-functional team, fostering collaboration across departments to meet category needs specific to toys and specialty hardgoods. * Optimize Financial Performance: Collaborate with the sourcing team to build products that meet customer expectations and satisfy brand KPIs, using your strong financial acumen to ensure profitability. * Conduct In-Depth Research: Initiate and manage consumer, market, industry, and competitor research to identify business opportunities while staying attuned to existing and prospective customer needs within assigned market segments. * Partner Across Functions: Collaborate with teams in marketing, e-commerce, creative services, sourcing, and planning to ensure that our category execution is seamless and meets business objectives. * Engage in Strategic Discussions: Engage in high-level business discussions, leveraging your understanding of the business landscape to adapt strategies and solve challenges effectively.
Qualifications To be successful, you must have experience in direct mail order, retail, or internet sales. We're looking for someone who embodies entrepreneurial spirit, strong organizational skills, and financial expertise, along with solid merchandise management experience. Ideally, you will have a bachelor's degree in business administration, retail consumer science, marketing, or a related discipline. In addition, we are looking for: * A creative individual who can conceptualize merchandising strategies and develop products that support the brand vision. * 5+ years of strong merchandising, marketing, financial, and general business knowledge. * A strong aptitude for researching and analyzing business opportunities. * The ability to collaborate effectively with multiple cross-functional partners. * An ability to think ahead and plan over a 1 to 5-year horizon. * Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities/tasks and lead complex projects to completion. * A demonstrated ability to lead teams and achieve positive results through others. * A deep understanding of integrated business processes and their interrelationships. * We value collaboration and believe that it often happens best in-person. All members of the Merchandising team are required to work onsite at our Monroe, WI Design Center.
