Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounts Payable Clerk has primary responsibility for processing accounts payable  and processing receipts from employees.

• Process all accounts payable information and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
• Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
• Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
• Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
• Using physical or electronic storage means, properly categorize and file all required documents and supporting documentation.
• Provide support for questions or documentation queries related to accounts payable or accounts receivable.
• Verify all payables have appropriate supporting documentation, or obtain the necessary documentation.
• Assist with making deposits or monetary transfers as directed.
• Attendance is an essential function of the job.
