Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Finance, Accounting, or a related field) and 5 - 8 years related experience.
  • Strong analytical and follow through skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, most notably Excel, PowerBI, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrate capability with large data sets using tools like Hyperion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to summarize and present complex financial data and operational activity.
  • Ability to learn on the fly and work both independently and in a team environment, interacting with colleagues of all levels, including operations personnel, co-workers, management, and auditors.
  • Ability to learn new software and database systems.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Knowledge of (GAAP) accounting and financial reporting practices.


Work Environment:



  • Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
  • Exposure to computer screens.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

The Senior Financial Analyst position will be responsible for assisting in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis for U.S. and international operations in the global shipping industry working with a highly committed and experienced Finance team. Qualified candidates must have good understanding of corporate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and accounting concepts. To be successful the candidate should demonstrate a high degree of prioritization skills, be able to work under multiple deadlines, have experience with robust financial systems, and will need to possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Manage and complete monthly updates to company-wide financial models using technology to access data from different accounting systems, various external reporting packages, and other internal systems.



  • Work with finance managers, directors and vice presidents to coordinate periodic rolling forecast and budget updates.
  • Provide management with financial information and perform ad-hoc analysis and PowerBI reporting.
  • Monitor financial and operational metrics associated with the business segments.
  • Support joint ventures and bank reporting.
  • Assist with updates of internal company material utilizing PowerPoint and PowerBI.
  • Work closely with internal team to maintain and continuously improve financial reporting tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
