The Director of Human Resources will lead a team of HR professionals responsible for day-to-day HR operations and employee relations. The Director acts as the escalation point for complex issues and serves as the subject matter expert for HR matters. Reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Human Resources, the Director takes strategic direction from the SVP to ensure HR initiatives align with broader organizational goals and executes HR policies and processes across the team. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of HR professionals, providing guidance and support in executing HR operations and employee relations functions.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex HR issues, offering expert advice and solutions.
- Provide expert guidance to HR staff and management on complex employee relations issues, ensuring fair and compliant resolutions.
- Support the HR team in fostering a positive, engaged, and inclusive workplace culture.
- Oversee HR operations managed by the team, including onboarding, performance management, benefits administration, and HR systems.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in the application of HR policies and procedures across the organization.
- Conduct periodic reviews of HR processes, recommending improvements where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and employment regulations.
- Oversee policy development and ensure HR processes mitigate risk and promote organizational safety.
- Provide strategic oversight to the HR team on performance management processes, including performance reviews, feedback mechanisms, and development plans.
- Guide the HR team in implementing DEI initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational values.
- Act as the escalation point for DEI-related issues, providing leadership with strategic insights to improve workplace diversity and inclusion efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong background in employee relations, compliance, and conflict resolution.
- Proven experience managing HR teams and serving as a strategic escalation point for HR matters.
- Expert knowledge of labor laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HR information systems and process management.
