Position Summary:

Actively identifies and pursues co-creation opportunities with suppliers to eliminate waste,reduce costs in the supply chain, product/ packaging and unnecessary cost of doing business together . Leads strategy, idea generation, planning, execution, and maintenance of vendor Co-Creation of Value programs. Collaborates with MMSC Category Marketing Teams, US National Logistics, divisions, Transportation and vendors to actively leverage capabilities and resources to generate COGS savings and incremental margin.

Essential Functions:

  • Attains targeted annualized COGS (cost of good sold) and margin enhancement goals associated through Co-Creation of Value efforts.

  • Develops innovative strategy to drive efficiency and cost reduction in the supply chain.

  • Cultivates a supply base and sourcing "culture" of continuous improvement and innovative thinking.

  • Manages new initiatives and existing vendor Co-Creation of Value programs.

  • Solicits vendor efficiency opportunities within the supply chain and negotiate value for GFS.

  • Negotiates allowances/compensation and criteria for Co-Creation of Value projects.

  • Comprehends and drives appropriate action for market conditions, internal capacities and supply/demand situations leading to unique cost avoidance inventory opportunities.

  • Discovers and takes advantage of supplier overstock and additional capacities.

  • Works with MMSC Category Marketing Teams and Supply Chain to actively issue POs to improve margin through avoidance of known market-driven price changes.

  • Leads development of process rigor around Co-Creation of Value cost savings activities.

  • Leads communication of systems development requirements to improve efficiency of current and future processes.

  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending related conferences, seminars, etc. Maintains peer relationships in the field to share issues and ideas.

  • Adheres to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.

  • Develops vision for future state of Co-Creation of Value and leads new expansion efforts.

  • Develops strategic analysis of current vendor state in order to identify future opportunities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Human Relations - ability to work in teams, interact with others across departments/roles, develop relationships, etc.

  • Self Management - self directed with ability to deal with distraction, repetition, prioritization, fluctuations in workload, ambiguity, etc.

  • Must have solid influencing skills.

  • Communication - excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills. Compelling presentation and peer leadership skills are essential.

  • Time Management - ability to multi-task, prioritize, and execute efficient work processes.

  • Extensive supply chain/ operations and continuous improvement (lean, six sigma)knowledge and experience

  • Customer Service - knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Service Orientation - actively looking for ways to help people.

  • Problem Solver - ability to problem solve and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems by comparing, classifying, innovating, analyzing, coordinating, copying, etc. May refer to established precedents and policies.

  • Detail-Oriented - demonstrate detail-oriented management of multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.

  • Culture - represent the culture of our company through tact, diplomacy and integrity.

  • Able to execute with limited information and ambiguity.

  • Highly analytical and strategic thinker.

  • Knowledge of JDA software is a plus.
