Description

Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a Structural Designer to join our Structural Design Group. The successful candidate will work on various projects for municipal, industrial, and federal clients. The candidate will work on project teams with structural, mechanical, process, and electrical engineers, architects, and designers on designs for facilities primarily serving the water and wastewater industries.

Project work includes leading the structural Revit/CAD model creation and drawing production efforts on projects; and coordination with other engineering disciplines. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative, multi-discipline environment to develop innovative, cost-effective designs for new facilities, expansions, upgrades, and retrofits.

Remote work is allowed; Central or Western time zones are preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities:



  • Manage drawing lists and initiate production of contract drawings.
  • Annotate contract drawings and address redline mark-ups.
  • Comply with BIMxP/CADD Plan to achieve consistent results.
  • Coordinate and execute Navisworks model walkthroughs
  • Perform daily model management and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain structural content and standard details.
  • Integrate REVIT products with other applications (Autodesk, construction phasing, cost estimation).


Required Qualifications



  • Prior experience using AutoCAD and REVIT in either a professional or academic setting.
  • Eager to support staff with positive attitude, passion, and patience.
  • Ability to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion.


    Preferred Qualifications



    • 2+ years of related experience.
    • Knowledge of BIM technologies and workflow.
    • Understand information required for development of bid-ready drawings.
    • Prior experience with Navisworks.
    • Familiarity with CRSI standards for reinforced concrete detailing and AISC structural steel detailing.
    • Working knowledge of design industry workflows, production cycle, and priorities.
    • Knowledge of industry standards such as NBIMS, NCS, AEC, a plus.


    Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

    Location A: $27.90 - $38.30

    Location B: $30.70 - $42.20

    Location C: $33.50 - $46.00
