Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Regional Nurse Administrator (Mercer County (Lawrenceville & Trenton) for the Child Health Program within the School of Nursing. The Regional Nurse Administrator (
RNA) will be the key nursing administrator representing the Child Health Program (
CHP) within the assigned New Jersey Department of Children and Families (
DCF)/Child Protection and Permanency (CP&P) area.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Represents CHP and CHP leadership at various meetings with DCF/CP&P, as well as community service organizations, health care providers/facilities, and parent organizations.
- Provides oversight and direction to the CHU staff in delivering educational and health related trainings to DCF/CP&P staff, caregivers and community providers within an assigned DCF/CP&P area.
- In collaboration with DCF/CP&P area leadership, and CHU staff, identifies unmet or problematic child health needs and develops strategies and resources to address them.
- Conducts monthly meetings with CHU staff in the assigned DCF/CP&P area to communicate key CHP and DCF/CP&P information, to problem solve concerns/issues, and to provide opportunities for team building.
- Prepares required CHP administrative reports and submits them to program support staff in a timely and complete manner.
- Delivers direct clinical nursing services, such as providing a nursing placement assessment or nursing case consultation, as necessary and requested.
- Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and
procedures specific to their jobs.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or BA / BS degree in a health related field required.
- A minimum of four (4) years pediatric nursing experience required.
- Supervisory experience required.

Certifications/Licenses |
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey required.
- Current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required.
- Vehicle and valid New Jersey license required for regional/statewide travel.
