Job Description

Provide a framework for the effective expansion and development of experiential education opportunities, with particular attention to co-ops and internships. Provide resources to implement effective assessment of the impact of experiential learning on student achievement. Seek out new experiential opportunities, facilitate promotion of these opportunities to increase student participation, and develop and maintain a tracking, reporting, and assessment system to measure student achievement and program success. Additionally, this role will create and manage all department marketing materials, including social media channels, to promote Career Services events and programs, build brand awareness, and engage students and employers. The position involves regular student advising on topics such as resume reviews, job negotiations, practice interviews, and job search resources to support student career success. This position also provides mentorship to students in experiential learning situations, guidance to employers hosting opportunities, and supports general operations of the Career Services department (counseling, programming, recruitment functions).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing, implementing, tracking, and reporting on experiential learning both for and not-for credit through effective collaboration with faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners
  • Assist students with their career goals, building skills to prepare for the workforce, and enhancing their academic experience through experiential learning; serve as the learning coach/mentor to students involved in experiential learning
  • Actively develop virtual and in-person workshops, webinars, and online content to maximize student learning, particularly for underrepresented students and those for whom experiential learning is not a required academic program element
  • Develop and execute department marketing materials and managing social media channels to enhance visibility of Career Services and experiential learning opportunities
  • Conduct regular student advising sessions, including resume reviews, job search resources, practice interviews, and job negotiation guidance
  • Develop metrics of success and conducting ongoing assessment within the context of NACE career-readiness competencies and general annual reporting to show alignment and continuous improvement
  • Provide individual and group coaching related to career planning and preparation for securing meaningful opportunities
  • Assist with employer event management
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must possess a dynamic, professional demeanor with exceptional organization, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to oversee multiple tasks with attention to detail, a motivated/enthusiastic work style
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a broad range of internal and external constituents including students, employers, alumni faculty, and staff
  • Demonstrated interest in social media, with the ability to stay updated on social media trends and effectively engage audiences
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $18.61-$25.00 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
