Regional Professional Development
Job Description
- Serve as a regional team member to provide support and service to implement the District Continuous Improvement (DCI) process in districts with buildings identified by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as targeted or comprehensive based upon the state's accountability system
- Provide support as indicated by district need for comprehensive implementation plan development relating to the set of effective educational practices identified in the DCI process
- Assist districts in determining training needs and in providing high-quality professional development for training on the identified set of effective educational practices
- Provide support, as indicated by district need, in leadership components of DCI
- Provide coaching, as indicated by district need, to district leadership and teams on identified effective educational practices, demonstrating a high effect on student outcomes
- Provide coaching, as indicated by need, to district leadership and teams in the development of efficient and effective district and building collaborative teams for data-based decision making
- Assist district staff in using on-line resources and virtual tools for training and coaching to support DCI implementation
- Support district staff in implementing the use of DCI specified materials, processes and effective educational practices with fidelity
- Provide coaching support in integration of effective academic and school-wide social/behavioral systems
- Provide coaching for district and building leadership teams in school-based implementation coaching to build capacity and promote sustainability of effective educational practices
- Work collaboratively with other DCI consultants, both regionally and statewide, with members of the RPDC team, and with members of the statewide implementation team to build capacity and ensure effective and sustainable implementation of effective educational practices
- Adhere to designated communication systems with team facilitator and with other DCI team members within and across teams
- Assist DESE with the collection of data for statewide analysis and dissemination
- Report data and consultant activities in a timely manner using a DESE provided system
- Attend and participate in learning opportunities with other DCI team members to build common language, skills, processes, and practices to support districts in DCI efforts
- Actively participate as a collaborative team member in all meetings / collaborations of the South Central RPDC team and the statewide DCI team
- Attend professional development opportunities applicable to the DCI process as requested/approved by DESE
- Represent the South Central Regional Professional Development Center and the Missouri University of Science and Technology in a positive and appropriate manner
- Serve as an ambassador for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education by promoting and supporting the goals and objectives of the Department
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree and at least 5 years successful teaching experience
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,223 annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
