Job Description Summary

We are seeking a skilled an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our Chicago team. As a Maintenance Associate specializing in forged steel parts, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and equipment related to forged parts production.

Job Description

  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment used in the production of forged steel parts to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in forging equipment such as presses, hammers, and other machinery.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and address them proactively to prevent breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with the production team to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize disruptions to production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment performance.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery as needed.'

Compensation & Benefits $26.40 to $33.86 & Sign on Bonus after 90 days

Required Skills and Education

REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Basic math skills. (i.e. addition and subtraction, working with decimals in both inches and metrics)
  • Proven understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong level of planning and organizational abilities
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
  • Must show a willingness to demonstrate S4 principles in daily job duties
  • Must show attention to detail, maintain a productive demeanor, and have a willingness to take the extra steps needed to ensure the job is done correctly

PREFERRED:

  • 3-5 years of production operations experience, particularly in high volume manufacturing
  • Experience in automotive, forging, or similar industries
  • Operating knowledge of Plexus
  • Familiarity with a union environment
