Job Location: Hershey, PA

Note: Preferred location is Hershey, PA but will consider hybrid with travel to Hershey.

Role Overview

The Director Procurement is responsible for overseeing the development, procurement and implementation of packaging solutions. This role ensures that packaging meets quality, cost, and sustainability standards while aligning with Hershey's strategic goals.

Accountabilities

Core Responsibilities / Outcomes Expected

Strategic Planning/Category Management: Develop and implement packaging strategies that align with Hershey's overall supply chain and procurement objectives across $500M portfolio spend.

Leadership & Change Management: Foster a collaborative environmental that drives accountability across the teams and categories. Focus on strategic vision that will allow teams to execute the plans and continuous improvement.

Data & Technology - Partner with our Procurement COE to move our procurement technology roadmap forward.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term packaging strategies that align with business goals and market trends. This includes anticipating future needs and proactively addressing potential challenges.

Leadership and Team Development: Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team. This includes mentoring, coaching, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Collaboration: Partner with our Procurement Center of Excellence on moving our digital procurement roadmap forward ensuring the packaging strategic plan aligns with our Data and Technology environment.

Experience & Education

Education: Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.

Experience: At least 10 years of experience in packaging, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within the CPG industry. Experience with sustainable packaging initiatives and vendor management is highly desirable.
