Position Purpose |

NAP) supports the wellbeing and success of Indigenous students at Dartmouth. The NAP's core work includes: advising and engagement, leadership and community development; education and training; and, advocacy.
Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Native American Program, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning and oversight of the implementation of signature programs, providing opportunities for student leadership development, coordinating outreach, and facilitating educational training. Many programs run during evenings and weekends; work schedules will be arranged to accommodate irregular hours. |

We are hiring! Come join our team at the Native American Program at Dartmouth as our
Program Coordinator for Community & Leadership Development. In this full-time, onsite role, you'll lead our signature programs-including the annual Welcome Social, Powwow, and Graduation-while fostering leadership and building community with Native and Indigenous students. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential, with a Bachelor's degree and experience working with Native or marginalized communities preferred. Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities |
* Bachelor's degree in Native American or Ethnic Studies, Higher Education Administration, Social Justice Education and Leadership, Counseling or comparable field and two years' relevant work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Applicable experiences in working with and/or advocating on behalf of Native and Indigenous peoples, and/or marginalized student communities.
* Strong organizational skills for proficiently managing multiple projects.
* Project and event management experience.
* Effective interpersonal skills for engaging students, faculty, and colleagues.
* Adept at working with a highly diverse community.
* Ability to handle highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. |
Preferred Qualifications |
* Master's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in Student Affairs, Native American and Indigenous studies, multicultural and social justice education, gender and sexuality studies, ethnic studies, international education, and/or leadership development.
* Experience working in Student Services.
* Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to take initiative, work independently, and handle multiple issues and competing priorities in a dynamic work environment. |

Program Coordination
* Guide students through outcomes and decision-making processes, room-booking, and budgeting.
* Facilitate student, faculty, staff, and community partnerships.
* Build rapport, learn, and maintain an ongoing understanding of the Native American and Indigenous community needs.
* Develop and oversee the implementation, marketing, delivery, and assessment of community-building programs, leadership workshops, Heritage and History celebrations, and the annual graduation celebration.
* Recruit students to participate in planning committees, support their continued involvement, and facilitate productive group discussions. |

* Design and facilitate leadership development workshops for student coordinators and committee members, rooted in the principles and values of Indigenous leadership.
* Develop, implement, and assess strategies for creating more collaborative and intersectional processes for
NAP programs and events.
* Train, supervise, and evaluate undergraduate student staff. |

Outreach and Education
* Be considerate of students' diverse backgrounds and identities, including their tribal or cultural affiliations, disabilities, health needs, socioeconomic status, immigration status, and citizenship status. Refer students to the appropriate campus resources and support services as needed.
* Create, and lead the following outreach and education efforts:
o Create electronic and print resources, outreach, and marketing materials. This may include updating website materials and using social networking platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, etc. |

* Collaborate and support Native and Indigenous Pre-Orientation and Community Life and Inclusivity programmatic initiatives.
* Attend professional training programs and remain up to date on issues and strategies related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

NAP and Dartmouth College at appropriate conferences and meetings.
* Work with Assistant Director on special projects.
