Description

Serve as the Hematology-Oncology Community Clinics Patient Navigator Manager providing non-clinical support, guidance and assistance for patients and families living with cancer. Primary goal to assist the patient with overcoming health care barriers and act as a liaison to understand patient's non-clinical individual needs and concerns. Guides the patient and family to a broad range of services and resources across the oncology care continuum and works as a part of a multidisciplinary team to optimize care and outcomes.

Salary range:Salary range: $68,800/year - $141,000/year

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to make independent judgments and to evaluate complex issues.
  • Administrative abilities to resolve complex and sensitive issues with diplomacy.
  • Oral communication skills to speak with individuals of varying backgrounds to obtain and convey specific information.
  • Skill in working independently with a minimal amount of direction.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and administrative personnel.
  • Knowledge of contact persons in order to direct patients to appropriate departments in an effort to resolve issues and provide patient-related materials.
  • Ability to speak to individuals using appropriate grammar and vocabulary to obtain information, explain policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of medical oncology terminology.
  • Working knowledge of University policies, procedures and forms as they relate to performance of job duties.
  • Skill in performing duties with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
  • Computer skills should include working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as experience with electronic medical record systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of appointment and encountering procedures.
  • Knowledge of insurance authorization and verification process.
  • Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices and procedures.
  • 1 year oncology related work experience.
