Job Description:

Kokosing Materials Inc. (KMI) is seeking a talented candidate with the technical skill sets and outgoing personality to join our Business Development team. The Asphalt Business Development Representative is responsible for Kokosing's visibility and engagement within the asphalt/materials markets.

This role defines and supports long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

This role is based out of our Garfield Heights, OH office (south central Cleveland area), with responsibility over the territory in northern Ohio - from Toledo to Cleveland (west to east), down to Columbus (south).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the development and fostering of existing customer relationships

  • Attend and participate in industry events within the asphalt/materials community in addition to other industry organizations

  • Excel in a collaborative, team environment where every voice matters

  • Work with sales team to understand customer needs, anticipate demand and ensure product quality

  • Provide pricing and specifications support on material submittals to customers

  • Sets up meetings between customers and the company's practice leaders

  • Attend industry events to expand network and promote Kokosing and the Materials Division

  • Participate in key industry groups at local, state, and national levels

  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE (Include Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • 10+ years of Asphalt Industry experience relating to Operations, Quality Control or Business Development

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Extensive knowledge of asphalt mix designs and paving practices

  • Established relationships within a target industry with an understanding of client's needs and solutions to those needs

  • Strong communication and people skills

  • Forward thinker with the ability to resolve industry related conflicts in a timely manner

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office
