Indiana Livehaul Lead Driver Trainer

PVT seeks a Senior Driver Trainer with operational expertise and computer skills. Our people-friendly transportation company, rooted in the core values of "Ethics, Integrity, and Stewardship," is quickly growing in size while maturing into a safe-driving, DOT-compliant force in the challenging world of dynamic customer service. The Senior Driver Trainer's role is preparing our driving team to be successful each and every day. The Senior Driver Trainer will participate in and lead efforts in asset management, customer service, required driver trainings and certification renewals as required, conflict resolution, driver coaching, and data integrity. The Senior Driver Trainer will play an integral role in establishing a daily foundation for each PVT driver to start his or her day.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Must possess a valid Class A CDL and medical card to perform this role
  • Office hours may be flexible based on daily needs of the business, staffing and equipment availabilities.
  • Collaborate with fleet maintenance on operational efficiencies and manage asset utilization.
  • You will coordinate with customer operations and ensure timely and accurate customer pick-ups and deliveries
  • Ensure communication systems are functioning correctly and train/support driver compliance
  • Investigate customer complaints/concerns in timely fashion.
  • Must be able to coach team members through required training and corrective actions with support of PVT management, as needed.
  • Track KPIs to support PVT management KPIs and Goals to support Clemens Food Group (CFG)
  • Contribute to department budgets through data support and conduct incident investigations.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and manage the driving team to support continuous improvement
  • Assist PVT Management during new hire interviews, pre-employment hiring requirements including the pre-employment driving test.
  • Manage job-sharing opportunities, and resolve complaints of team members.
  • Participate in Company and Dept. meetings, as required.



Job Definition :




  • Decision Making & Customer Service

    • Manage driver call outs quickly and make appropriate driver/equipment changes to keep customer deliveries on schedule.
    • Coordinate with customer operations to ensure on-time deliveries.
    • Communicate and update customers as needed regarding changes to daily/weekly schedules





Paperwork/Admin:



  • Gather all driver generated load documentation for daily/weekly customer load invoicing and driver payroll.
  • Organize and communicate driver delivery documents for the following day.
  • Create trip reports and manifest for any deliveries coming out of third party, offsite storage.


Operations/Dispatch:



  • Check and respond to all communications from drivers.
  • Create and update dispatch information in transportation management system (TMW) making all additions/changes required for correct equipment tracking, customer invoicing and weekly driver pay.
  • Review TMW for route progress and close out completed trips from previous day
  • Monitor any equipment changes made to originally planned dispatch schedule
  • Facilitate, change and update TMW systems when last minute load changes occur


Asset Management



  • Daily equipment inventory updates and checks to ensure customer cleanliness standards are being met.
  • Daily equipment inventory checks to ensure equipment assigned to specific customer systems are in proper working order for next day's schedules.
  • Manage and coordinate with PV Service Center equipment maintenance and repair schedules to minimize downtime to the designated customer systems to which the equipment is assigned.



Biosecurity Compliance




  • Must be able to follow and drive equipment and driver compliance to meet all customer biosecurity expectations and guidelines.
  • Perform annual training as required to meet internal and external PVT and customer requirements.
  • Research and present best practices for trailer biosecurity to increase driver safety, efficiencies while decreasing disease spread threats.
  • Participate in CFG biosecurity meetings not limited to but including CVFF teams.
  • Communicate and complete follow up's or develop action plans regarding Observation Biosecurity Reports (OBR's) and internal/external audits.
