ARES is seeking an experienced IT Strategist to support the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Strategy & Architecture Office (SAO). As an integral part of the SAO team, you will provide strategic IT governance, planning, and material/operational support to OCIO and Agency leadership. This will directly impact the development and maintenance of NASA's IT Strategic Plan, and IT Related content in NASA's overall Strategic Plan. Remote, hybrid, and onsite positions the employee bears travel costs to nearest NASA Center for badging and issue of NASA IT equipment.

JOB DESCRIPTION / FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will include but not be limited to the following activities:

  • Development of the NASA IT Strategic Plan, IT Elements of the NASA Strategic Plan, and related tactical plans.
  • Implementation of strategy management frameworks and strategies using balanced scorecards, objectives, and key results (OKRs), and key performance indicators (KPIs) to create, assess, and measure performance towards strategic objectives.
  • Development of key stakeholder engagement strategies to communicate NASA IT Strategic Plan, implementation strategies, and performance assessment results.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders, objective leads, and other stakeholders to assess, capture, and provide executive level reporting on strategic performance.
  • Development and recommendation of technology and process requirements to assess potential solutions in support of SAO activities including, but not limited to, measuring strategic goals, collecting, and analyzing various metrics, and supporting business functional areas.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a robust process to track, along with associated documentation, and evaluate NASA's IT strategy in coordination with NASA.

EDUCATION AND PREVIOUS WORK REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education - BA/BS

Minimum experience - 15 years overall experience

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

  • Must be able highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote,
  • One Drive), and SharePoint, willing and able to learn governmental process along with being a self-starterwith ability to learn new things. Must be familiar technology commonly used for remote work (Teams, Zoom,etc.)
  • Minimum five years of experience delivering executive level analytics products/deliverables (OKRs, KPIs,scorecards etc). Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tool is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in an IT Strategy role. Business acumen and the ability to connect business strategy with

IT strategy.
