Purpose:

We are looking to hire a senior pipeline engineer with 10-15 years of experience to apply their skills on challenging and diverse pipeline projects at our Denver location.

Candidate will enhance technical skills performing introductory calculations and assisting in the preparation of pipeline design deliverables and provide guidance for senior engineers.

Responsibilities:



  • Take direction from and report to the Project Manager and the Director of Pipelines.
  • Carry out projects as assigned. Assignments may involve research, line sizing, crossing layout, buoyancy calculations, hydraulics, review and engineering approval of alignment sheets, constructability review of linear route, material selection, technical specification development, and general assistance to the team for pipeline projects.
  • Mentoring and training of less senior and less experienced pipeline engineers.
  • Take ownership of the pipeline centerline and collaborate with pipeline designers.
  • Ability to conduct HCA Analysis
  • Ability to review and approve bore / HDD designs.
  • Ability to author SOW documents for civil survey work.
  • Deep working knowledge in pipeline design and construction.
  • Take ownership of pipeline typical and project specific pipeline drawings.
  • Create datasheets for specialty items in pipeline (including Piggable Wye, Induction Bends, etc)
  • Knowledge in ILI / SMART Tools with ability to work with vendors to make recommendations on specific projects.
  • Strong collaboration skills to include working with pipeline integrity SMEs and metallurgists.
  • Use established procedures to gather and correlate basic data.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry standards and codes.
  • Assist in planning and implementing safety, loss control and environmental programs.
  • Quality Assurance - responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the relevant Quality Assurance system
  • Safety - Responsible for personal safety and safe work practices, in accordance with Health, Safety and Environmental procedures

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work individually and in a team environment. They will possess excellent verbal/written communication and time management skills. The successful candidate will have:



  • 10 to 15 years of experience demonstrating progressing levels of responsibility
  • Experience in a US EPC engineering environment
  • Experience in the US Oil and Gas industry on pipelines and pipeline related facilities, including:

    • Experience in the design and construction of crude oil, natural gas, water, H2 and CO2 gathering and transmission pipelines
    • Working knowledge of relevant industry standards including ASME B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8, DOT Part 192 and DOT Part 195
    • Design of mainline valve sites


  • Experience with software required for the job, including:

    • Microsoft Office
    • Bluebeam
    • Civil 3D
    • WebMap
    • ArcGIS


  • Experience with development and review of drawings related to pipelines and pipeline facilities, including:

    • Alignment sheets
    • HDD plan/profile drawings
    • Plot plans
    • Piping isometrics
    • PFDs/P&IDs


  • Experience with development and review of calculations for pipelines, including:

    • Hydrostatic testing
    • Stress and wall thickness
    • HDD operation and installation
    • Hydraulic modelling

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:



  • Graduated with an ABET Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or degree in other discipline of engineering plus related experience).
  • Engineer Intern accreditation or Professional Engineer licensure


Additional information:



  • This position is to be located in the Englewood/Denver, CO area
  • Salary: $125,394 - $184,403 commensurate with experience
  • Benefits: eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.
